Making of SaveState tool
Balancing Development and Creation with a Little AI Help
As a full-time developer, free time is a rare commodity for me. Between coding deadlines and project demands, I don’t often get the chance to dive into side projects. However, I’ve always had a passion for creating tutorials and tools to support fellow developers—especially those in the GameMaker community who need quick, practical solutions for their projects. That’s why I decided to start building a series of tools to fill those gaps.
With my schedule being as tight as it is, I’ve turned to a hybrid approach to make this possible. I combine my own coding expertise with AI assistance to speed up development while ensuring the end product remains accurate and bug-free. The AI handles the heavy lifting of generating initial code, but I refine and test everything myself, drawing on years of experience to polish it into something reliable. This method has allowed me to create tools like SaveState, a utility for saving game states, which I’m excited to share with you all.
Stay tuned for more details on SaveState and other tools I’m working on. I’d love to hear your thoughts—feel free to drop a comment or reach out with suggestions for future projects!
